Parish Church - St. Just-in-Penwith

I fell in love with the St. Just's parish church and visited it three times during my stay at Brisons Veor.

This sign "Poems in the Porch" was on the wall in the church entrance. How cool is that.

Inside - maybe I can do something with this geometry.

I love that there's this pantry where you can give away or get food.

These capitals are stunning. I read the are not characteristic of Cornwall.

I need to revist my collection about grapes and wine now that I've seen these capitals.

Some paisley designs I played with.

There's much more work to be done with the grapes.

There's was this amazing tile on parts of the floor.

What a cute cushion on the pew.

Here more grapes and Jesus as the vine.

These carvings are much later.

All the churches I saw had paper ornaments on the trees.

This Celtic knot is one of the oldest pieces in the church.

Brisons Veor - Pew End with Shells and Swallows

“The pew end is an example of the type of pew end that used to be found throughout the Church. It was discovered in a farm stable pigsty, covered in many layers of paint and muck and the bottom two or three inches were set in concrete.”

I’ve been playing with swallow and shell designs. I got interested after I saw this bench end at the church in St. Just

I also saw this sign in town

"As for the birds of the coast-the sea-birds-the Cornish coast is the coast par excellence for the study of their lives."
p.43, Unknown Cornwall
